Loughborough Boat Club hold their annual regatta at the National Water Sports Centre, http://nationalwatersportsevents.co.uk Nottingham.
The Loughborough Regatta 2008 will be held at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham on 14th June 2008. For more information visit the www.loughboroughregatta.co.uk website. It is worth a mention that when our regatta field by the River Soar was flooded in 1973, Loughborough Boat Club appealed to the recently opened Holme Pierrepont to use their course. The Boat Club have held their regatta here ever since and were pleased when the ARA Open Veteran Championships joined us years ago. It has been a fruitful and enjoyable partnership – some call it `The Annual Miracle’.
It never becomes easy to run a regatta however having the modern facilities that Holme Pierrepont offer enables the organisers to achieve an enjoyable day for all and gives competitors the opportunity to race 1000 meters, on an international course.
