Loughborough Boat Club
Loughborough Boat Club collected two wins at the South Yorkshire Head of
the River raced over a 3000m course upstream on the River Don near
Guingouain continued her consistently good form to win the Women’s
Senior 2 Single Sculls in a time of 15 mins 21 secs and the women’s junior 15
double scull of Isabelle Jones and Rosy Dixon, racing in the Women’s Novice
category, also gained a win in 16 mins 41 secs. This was despite Jones having
received a ducking in the freezing cold river in an earlier race when her single
scull was hit by another boat and capsized – although she showed her
determination by getting herself back in the boat and finishing the race!
