Loughborough Boat Club

The Boat Club’s own crews are also providing inspiration to potential new recruits through a series of wins at recent regattas. Nick Logan continued his successful season with a strong win over the 800 metre River Severn course at Bewdley when he beat Leander’s Lloyd in the final of the Men’s Senior 2 Single Sculls by half a length.

Also on the River Severn but a little further downstream at Stourport, the club gained a convincing victory in the highly competitive Women’s Senior 2 Coxed Four event. Steered and encouraged down the 1100 metre course by cox Carly Bilsbrough, the crew of Marie Guingouain, Emily Clarke and Sarah Mee, joined by Nottingham Boat Club’s Rachel Scott, finished an impressive two and a half lengths ahead of fellow finalists Agecroft.

Clarke added to her win over the 1000 metre Thames course at Henley Town and Visitors’ Regatta when she beat Easton of Vesta in the final of the Women’s Elite Single Sculls by an imposing two and a half lengths.

As well as success at regional regattas the Club saw their Women’s Quad of Katja Lange, Lucinda Bowden, Katy Smith and Kerry Trembling reach the final of the Great Britain National Rowing Championships.
