Loughborough Boat Club
After the highs of the Club’s annual Head Race, members were saddened to hear of the death of one of Loughborough Boat Club’s longest standing member, Mr Bill Onions. Mr Onions had been a member for over 70 years since he joined in 1932 as a cox, then moving onto rowing. He served the Club in various roles, as Captain just after the Second World War and later as Chairman and most recently as President. His total commitment to the Club and his regular and frequent presence will be sadly missed by all members.
