Loughborough Boat Club

Loughborough Boat Club clocked up its highest ever number of wins at its own Regatta, which is run alongside the National Veterans Regatta, when we gained seven victories.

The Women's Senior III Double Sculls of Clare Wilson and Ruth Amos won for the second time this week beating the same York City crew on each occasion. The first success came at the Peterborough Regatta by just a fraction of a second but the win at Loughborough was by an impressive 10 seconds.

There was another fine win for Emily Clarke who took the Women's Novice Single Sculls by a massive 19 seconds. Emily finished the day with three wins as she was also part of the Women's Senior II Quad with Tess Gaunt, Rachel Scott and Sarah Mee, and the Women's Senior II Eight where those four were joined by Anna Henderson, Caroline Lomax, Jo Coulson and Ruth Amos.

Anna Henderson won the Women's Senior II Single Sculls, Tess Gaunt and Sarah Mee won the Senior I Double Sculls and Alan Perry won the Senior I Single Sculls.

"This was a magnificent effort by club members and almost everyone who competed went away with a trophy" said Club Captain Keith Hudson. "Our crews ranged in age from 16 to late 40s so it shows that this is a sport where all age groups can compete and win. It was a great day for the club and I'm sure there will be many more wins this summer".
