Loughborough Boat Club
Loughborough Boat Club had a promising start to the regatta season with three wins at the first two events.
The Women's Open Squad Scull of Tess Gaunt, Rachel Scott, Kerstine Herbert and Sarah Mee fought it out over the Holme Pierrepont 2000m course in Notts City Regatta to beat opponents Leicester by a length and Notts and union/Derwent to two and a half lengths.

At Shrewsbury Regatta last weekend the Coxed Four of Caroline Lomax, Clair Wilson, Jo Coulson and Mary Carswell, coxed by Wendy Long, managed a double in the 600m sprint with wins in the Senior 2 and Veteran B categories.
In Senior 2 they won through to the final with victories over Warrington and Northwich., In the final they took an early lead against the home club Pengwern and won by one and a half lengths.
In the final of Veteran B the Loughborough crew put in a convincing performance to beat opponents Warwick by a length, giving the club its first Veteran Women's win.
The club's other crews all reached their finals with a number of near misses such as the Men's Senior 1 Eight of Alan Perry, Keith Hudson, Peter Hepworth, Andy Martin, Mike Lunn, Simon Hill, Marcus Joy and Chris Smith coxed by Nick Robinson who just lost out to a University of Leicester/Holme Pierrepont composite.
